We want to provide classes and workshops that are not only creative, but fun to engage in.

 

If you have a workshop or class you would like to bring to life we would love to be where that happens. Are you an artist who would love to try teaching a workshop or class and need inspiration or support creating one, we are here for you!

How we support you as a workshop or class instructor:

1. Provide a great space to facilitate in (10 - 20 students in our fine arts workshop & up to 10 in our ceramics studio)

2. Support with any creative ideas or feedback from the community with class concepts

3. Necessary equipment for teaching (easels, tables, etc)

4. Sourcing materials to support classes

5. Administration for scheduling & booking classes

6. Marketing to community of Okotoks & surrounding foothills

Compensation for workshops & classes

Our contracted hourly rate ($55.00/hr)

- cover 60min preptime (prepare workshop & provide requirements to studio)

- hours in studio with class & clean up

Interested in teaching a workshop or class? Please complete the form below to let us know the medium you would like to teach, a little bit about the workshop or class and when you hope to run it.

If you are a returning teacher and this is a repeat workshop, please just put the name of the workshop and click the check box that it is a repeat.

Workshop/Class Info

If you are a new artist submitting a workshop or class teaching request to The Fig, please know that we try and take care of everything. We make sure your space is set up with the supplies, equipment and eager creative types! Please just make sure to give us a good overview of what you are hoping to teach and what people will be leaving with (1 piece of art, an understanding of the medium, etc).

Scheduling

We cannot guarantee a day or time, especially if there is another workshop or event running. We will work with you to get something as close or comprable to.

We are opening September 2, 2026 - all requests should be after that date

We request that any dates be at least 6 weeks out to give time to book, market and sell out.

If you wish for your class to be ongoing (one workshop per month, per quarter, please check the ongoing box below to discuss further)

Promotional Materials

Promotional materials will be used as follows: Artists will have an artist bio on our Artists Page (website) including Image, Class/Workshop, Studio/Business name & link to your website. Images of like works taught in workshops & classes will be added to the class profile on the website & used in social media for marketing purposes. Images of artists works will be used to highlight artists teaching at the facility, on socials.
